In this n8n training you learn to connect applications and automate processes with AI steps in a controlled way, and it is aimed at intermediate users interested in processes and interfaces. You build workflows with triggers, webhooks and API calls, use language models deliberately and have people approve critical steps. Error workflows and logs keep processes traceable in operation. The examples draw on requests, documents and notifications from everyday office work.

- Who is it for?
- Specialists from operations, marketing, sales and IT who want to automate recurring processes between applications.
- Prerequisites
- A basic grasp of web applications and data formats such as JSON. Programming is not required; first experience with prompts helps.
- Format & planning
- Suggested format: 2 days (about 7 hours each) live online or on site by arrangement. Scope depends on prior knowledge.

n8n basics: nodes, connections, executions, credentials and the difference between cloud and self-hosting.
Triggers and data flow: webhook, schedule and app triggers, items, expressions and the Set, IF and Merge nodes.
Interfaces: the HTTP Request node, authentication via API key or OAuth, pagination and rate limiting.
AI steps: language model node, prompt templates, structured JSON output and checking the answer before further processing.
Approvals and safety: confirmation by email or chat, separating draft from sending and minimal access rights.
Operations: Error Trigger workflow, retry settings, execution history, failure notification and versioning.
Suggested exercise: Build a workflow that categorises incoming requests with AI, drafts a reply and requests approval before sending.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need programming skills for n8n?
Not necessarily. Workflows are built visually from nodes. An understanding of JSON and APIs helps, because you reshape data between applications. For special cases n8n offers code nodes, which we cover only briefly. Knowing Python speeds you up but is not needed.
n8n or Power Automate: which suits me?
Power Automate fits well if your processes mostly live in Microsoft 365. n8n is more flexible with third-party systems and direct API calls, and it offers the option to self-host. The decision depends on your systems, data protection rules and operating effort. We are happy to discuss this before booking.
How safe is it to use AI in automated processes?
That depends on the design. You limit what a model may do, have outputs checked and plan approvals before actions such as sending or deleting. Personal data belongs only in tools cleared for it. These layers of protection are core content of the training.
