In this Microsoft Copilot training you learn to use the AI assistant in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams deliberately for drafts, summaries and analysis, and it is aimed at employees who already use Microsoft 365. You choose suitable use cases, phrase requests that refer to documents, check results critically and understand why permissions and data protection shape the answers. Which features you see depends on your tenant's licence and settings.
What you’ll take away.
- Select tasks where Copilot saves time and tasks where it is unsuitable
- Phrase requests that refer to files, meetings and emails
- Check and revise summaries and drafts in Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Use Copilot in Excel for formulas and first analyses and cross-check the results
- Explain how permissions and sensitivity labels influence the answers
Your training in detail
- Who is it for?
- Users in office work, sales, projects and administration who use Microsoft 365 with Copilot or support its rollout.
- Prerequisites
- Confident use of Word, Outlook and Teams. Hands-on exercises need an account with Copilot access, which we clarify beforehand.
- Format & planning
- Suggested format: 1 day (about 7 hours) live online or on site by arrangement. Scope depends on prior knowledge.
Agenda: from understanding to application
Our independently developed agenda proposal. Focus areas, lab environment and scope are agreed before booking.
Orientation: what separates Copilot Chat from Copilot features in the Microsoft 365 apps and how licence and tenant decide it.
Good requests: goal, source, audience and format, plus working with prompt examples and follow-up questions in chat.
Word, Outlook and PowerPoint: drafts, email replies, shortening and rewriting, and presentations built from documents.
Teams and meetings: summaries, open items and tasks, with notes on transparency towards participants.
Excel with Copilot: formatting data as tables, requesting formula suggestions, highlighting patterns and recalculating results.
Security and governance: access by permission, oversharing in SharePoint, sensitivity labels and the duty to check before passing on.
Suggested exercise: Have a meeting summarised and a reply email drafted from it, compare both with the recording and mark every deviation.
Exams, licences & credentials
We do not promise a specific Microsoft exam because the exam catalogue changes; current exams are listed on Microsoft Learn. Attending alone awards no vendor certification. Exam fees and Copilot licences are only included if confirmed in the offer.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a special licence to use Copilot in the training?
That depends on your tenant. Microsoft distinguishes Copilot Chat from Copilot features in the apps, with different data access and licence needs. Before the session we clarify what is available to you and adapt the exercises. Licence costs are only included if the offer expressly confirms it.
Is my data protected with Copilot?
According to Microsoft, Copilot only surfaces content you can already access and does not use prompts and Graph data to train foundation models. That does not replace your own review. Wrongly set permissions can expose content you do not expect. That is why the course covers permissions and sensitivity labels.
Copilot or a ChatGPT-style assistant: which suits work?
Copilot is embedded in Microsoft 365 and, depending on licence, can work with your files, emails and meetings. Other assistants can be used independently of that. What counts are your company's rules on data protection and approved tools. The prompt methods from the training transfer to both.
Does Microsoft Copilot at work include a certificate?
We do not promise a specific Microsoft exam because the exam catalogue changes; current exams are listed on Microsoft Learn. Attending alone awards no vendor certification. Exam fees and Copilot licences are only included if confirmed in the offer.
