In this prompt engineering training you learn to give language models tasks so that the answers are reliably usable, and it is meant for users with first AI experience. You work with context, examples, output formats and intermediate steps, compare prompt variants against fixed criteria and store proven prompts as templates. You also learn where language models reach their limits. The methods are vendor-neutral and transfer to common assistants.
What you’ll take away.
- Phrase tasks precisely with goal, audience, context and constraints
- Supply examples and output formats such as a table or JSON deliberately
- Break complex tasks into prompt chains with intermediate results
- Compare answers with a scoring list and improve prompts step by step
- Store proven prompts as maintained templates with placeholders
Your training in detail
- Who is it for?
- Knowledge workers, marketing, support, assistants and specialists who regularly use AI for writing, analysis or research.
- Prerequisites
- First experience with an AI assistant. No programming skills needed.
- Format & planning
- Suggested format: 1 day (about 7 hours) live online or on site by arrangement. Scope depends on prior knowledge.
Agenda: from understanding to application
Our independently developed agenda proposal. Focus areas, lab environment and scope are agreed before booking.
How language models produce answers, what context window and temperature mean and why identical prompts answer differently.
Prompt building blocks: role, task, context, constraints, tone and output format, practised on vague and precise versions.
Few-shot examples and structured output such as tables, bullet lists or JSON with fixed fields.
Stepwise approach: splitting tasks, checking intermediate steps, delimiters for inputs and prompt chains.
Evaluating and improving: test cases, scoring grids, A/B comparison of prompt variants and dealing with hallucinations.
Reuse: a prompt library with placeholders, version notes, data protection rules and safeguards against prompt injection.
Suggested exercise: Choose a recurring writing task, develop three prompt variants, score them on five criteria and save the best as a template.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need programming skills for prompt engineering?
No. Prompt engineering works with language, structure and review, not code. A few examples use JSON as an output format, which we explain. Anyone who later wants to build prompts into applications or automations can follow up with training on workflow automation or Python.
Do the prompt techniques apply to all AI tools?
The core principles such as a clear task, context, examples and format apply to common language models. Finer points differ by model and version, for instance with long inputs or tool use. That is why you also learn to test prompt variants yourself rather than memorising recipes.
Is prompt engineering a profession of its own or an added skill?
For most employees it is an added skill that makes working with AI more reliable. We cannot promise what the market will ask for in future, and we promise no jobs. The training teaches methods you can apply directly in your current role.
Does Prompt engineering include a certificate?
We know of no recognised cross-vendor exam tied to prompt engineering. Attending alone awards no vendor certification. A NextNowa confirmation of attendance is possible.
