This UX/UI training teaches you to research user needs, turn them into interface prototypes and check them with usability tests. It suits beginners, developers, product owners and editors who want to improve digital products. You run short interviews, sketch flows, build clickable designs, apply heuristics and accessibility rules and derive concrete changes from what you observe.
What you’ll take away.
- Prepare and run user interviews and turn them into insights and personas
- Sketch user journeys and information architecture for a product
- Create wireframes and clickable prototypes in Figma
- Evaluate interfaces using Nielsen's heuristics and the WCAG rules
- Run usability tests with five people and rank findings by severity
Your training in detail
- Who is it for?
- Beginners in UX and UI, developers, product owners, editors and marketing specialists.
- Prerequisites
- None. An interest in digital products is enough, no drawing skills needed.
- Format & planning
- Suggested format: 3 days live online or on site. Scope depends on prior knowledge.
Agenda: from understanding to application
Our independently developed agenda proposal. Focus areas, lab environment and scope are agreed before booking.
Fundamentals: the difference between UX and UI, design thinking phases and the path from problem to solution.
Research: user interviews, observation, surveys, personas and jobs to be done.
Structure: user journey, card sorting for navigation, information architecture and paper sketches.
Visual design: grids, typography, colour and contrast, components and design tokens in Figma.
Prototype and accessibility: clickable flows, form states and checks against WCAG 2.2.
Evaluation: heuristic review after Nielsen, usability test with tasks, observation log and prioritising findings.
Suggested exercise: examine an existing booking or sign-up flow, run it with three test participants, list the weak points and build an improved prototype in Figma.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between UX and UI?
UX describes the whole experience of use: does someone find what they look for and reach their goal? UI is the visible design with layout, colours, type and controls. Good interfaces need both. The training combines research, structure and visual design in one pass.
Do I need to be able to draw or design?
No. For UX, observing, structuring and asking questions matter more than drawing talent, and sketches can be rough. For the interface we work with components and grids in Figma that provide much of the structure. With practice the result is clean.
How many participants do I need for a usability test?
For a qualitative test, around five people usually uncover most serious problems, as Nielsen Norman Group has long explained. More groups or audiences need more participants. We practise task design, observation and evaluation with a small round.
Does UX/UI & product design include a certificate?
There is no single vendor exam for UX and UI that this training specifically prepares for. Attending alone awards no vendor certification.
